Seafood and Broth Ingredients

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Seafood

Ensure all seafood is cleaned and ready for cooking. Peel and devein the shrimp and rinse the mussels and clams under cold water.

  2. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, chopped onion, and red bell pepper. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Add Tomatoes and Stock

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, fish stock (or clam juice), and white wine. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

  4. 4

    Season the Broth

Add the dried oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the pot. Adjust seasoning according to your taste.

  5. 5

    Cook the Seafood

Once the broth is simmering, add the mussels and clams first. Cook for about 5 minutes until they start to open. Then add the shrimp and scallops. Cook for an additional 5-7 minutes until the shrimp turn pink and the scallops are opaque.

  6. 6

    Garnish and Serve

Once all the seafood is cooked, remove the pot from heat. Stir in the chopped fresh parsley and serve hot in bowls. Enjoy your Cioppino!
