Preparation Steps
- 1
Cook the Gnocchi
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions, usually about 2-3 minutes until they float to the top. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the prosciutto and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Pour in the grappa and let it simmer for 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
- 3
Finish the Sauce
Stir in the heavy cream, salt, and black pepper. Allow the sauce to simmer for an additional 3-4 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- 4
Combine Gnocchi with Sauce
Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and gently toss to coat them in the sauce. Cook for another 1-2 minutes to heat through.
- 5
Serve
Plate the gnocchi and garnish with shaved Parmesan cheese and fresh basil if desired. Serve immediately.
