Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Marinate the Steak

In a bowl, combine the flank steak with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Grill the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Slice the Steak

Once rested, slice the steak thinly against the grain.

Making the Cabbage Slaw

  1. 4

    Prepare the Vegetables

Finely shred the green cabbage and grate the carrot. Chop the cilantro.

  2. 5

    Mix the Slaw

In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrot, cilantro, lime juice, and salt. Toss well to coat and let it sit for at least 10 minutes to allow flavors to meld.

Assembling the Tacos

  1. 6

    Warm the Tortillas

Heat the corn tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat for about 30 seconds on each side until warm and pliable.

  2. 7

    Fill the Tacos

Place a few slices of steak on each tortilla, top with cabbage slaw, and add sliced avocado, sour cream, and salsa.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top.
