Method

Prepare Espresso

  1. 1

    Brew Espresso

Using an espresso machine, brew 2 shots of espresso into a coffee cup. If you don't have an espresso machine, you can use a stovetop espresso maker or a French press with finely ground coffee.

  2. 2

    Add Hot Water

If desired, dilute the espresso with 30 ml of hot water to make it less intense. This step is optional, depending on your taste preference.

Froth Milk

  1. 3

    Heat Milk

In a small saucepan, heat 150 ml of whole milk over medium heat until it is steaming but not boiling. You can also use a milk frother or microwave to heat the milk.

  2. 4

    Froth Milk

Use a milk frother, whisk, or French press to froth the heated milk until it doubles in volume and forms a creamy foam.

  3. 5

    Sweeten Milk

Add sugar to the frothed milk to taste and stir gently to combine.

Assemble Cappuccino

  1. 6

    Combine Espresso and Milk

Pour the frothed milk over the brewed espresso, holding back the foam with a spoon to create layers.

  2. 7

    Add Garnish

Sprinkle cocoa powder and cinnamon (if using) on top of the cappuccino for added flavor and presentation.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve immediately while hot. Enjoy your homemade cappuccino!
