Tostada Assembly

Method

Cooking the Brisket

  1. 1

    Prepare the Brisket

Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Pat the brisket dry with paper towels and rub it with olive oil.

  2. 2

    Season the Brisket

In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, ground cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.

  3. 3

    Sear the Brisket

In a large oven-safe skillet or Dutch oven, heat a little olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear the brisket on all sides until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  4. 4

    Add Broth and Cover

Pour the beef broth into the skillet around the brisket, cover with a lid or foil, and transfer to the preheated oven. Cook for 3-4 hours or until the brisket is tender.

  5. 5

    Rest and Shred

Once cooked, remove brisket from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before shredding it with two forks.

Assembling the Tostadas

  1. 6

    Prepare the Tostadas

On each corn tostada, spread a layer of refried beans, followed by a generous portion of the shredded brisket.

  2. 7

    Add Toppings

Top each tostada with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, a dollop of sour cream, and a sprinkle of fresh cilantro.

  3. 8

    Serve

Serve with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the tostadas.
