Cocktail Sauce

Method

Prepare the Shrimp

  1. 1

    Boil the Shrimp

In a large pot, combine 4 cups of water, the halved lemon, and the Old Bay seasoning. Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once boiling, add the peeled and deveined shrimp to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Chill the Shrimp

Remove the pot from heat and drain the shrimp in a colander. Rinse the shrimp under cold water to stop the cooking process. Once cool, place the shrimp in the refrigerator to chill for at least 30 minutes.

Prepare the Cocktail Sauce

  1. 4

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of ketchup, 2 tablespoons of horseradish, 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce.

  2. 5

    Season the Sauce

Stir the mixture well, then season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the horseradish for more heat if desired.

Serve

  1. 6

    Plate the Shrimp

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter or individual plates.

  2. 7

    Add Cocktail Sauce

Serve with the cocktail sauce on the side for dipping.
