Prepare Coffee Mixture
Brew the espresso coffee and mix it with the coffee liqueur in a shallow dish. Allow it to cool.

Make Cream Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and powdered sugar until the mixture is creamy. Then fold in the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract until smooth. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form and gently fold it into the mascarpone mixture.

Assemble Tiramisu
Dip each ladyfinger quickly into the coffee mixture and layer them at the bottom of a serving dish. Spread half of the cream mixture on top. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and the remaining cream mixture.

Chill and Serve
Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and add chocolate shavings if desired.
