Prepare the Dough

In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until frothy. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Knead until smooth. Let rise for 1 hour.

Shape and Cook the Bread

Divide the dough into 10 pieces and shape into rounds. Flatten each round into a disc. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.

Make the Cevapi Mixture

In a bowl, mix ground beef, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, baking soda, and water. Mix until well blended.

Shape the Cevapi

Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into small sausages, about 4 inches long.

Cook the Cevapi

Grill or pan-fry the cevapi over medium heat for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through.

Cream Cheese and Onion

Prepare the Topping

In a bowl, mix cream cheese, finely chopped onion, salt, and black pepper to taste.

Assembly

Serve

Slice the lepinja bread in half, fill with cevapi, and top with the cream cheese and onion mixture.
