Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Sausage

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian chicken sausage links and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from the skillet and slice into rounds.

  2. 2

    Roast the Peppers

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Add the sliced sweet bell peppers and minced garlic. Cook until the peppers are tender and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Cook the Gnocchi

While the peppers are cooking, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions until they float to the top. Drain and set aside.

  4. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Add the cooked gnocchi and sliced sausage to the skillet with the roasted peppers. Stir in the shredded smoked gouda, fresh basil, salt, and black pepper. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and everything is heated through.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve hot, garnished with extra basil if desired.
