Brewing Instructions
Prepare the Teapot
Before brewing, preheat your Tokoname clay teapot by rinsing it with hot water. This helps maintain the temperature during the brewing process.
Measure the Tea Leaves
Measure 2 tablespoons of high-quality green tea leaves, such as Sencha or Gyokuro, and place them into the preheated Tokoname teapot.
Boil the Water
Boil 500 ml of filtered water. For green tea, it’s important not to use boiling water as it can scorch the leaves. Allow the water to cool slightly to around 70-80°C (158-176°F).
Steep the Tea
Pour the cooled water over the tea leaves in the Tokoname teapot. Allow the tea to steep for 2-3 minutes. Adjust the steeping time based on your taste preference.
Serve the Tea
After steeping, pour the tea through the spout of the Tokoname teapot into small teacups. Enjoy the delicate flavors of the green tea.
Repeat if Desired
You can steep the same tea leaves 2-3 times, increasing the steeping time by 30 seconds each time for the best flavor extraction.
