Sparkling Water

Garnish (optional)

Method

Sparkling Water

  1. 1

Chill a bottle of Perrier thoroughly in the refrigerator (at least 2 hours) or in an ice bucket for 20–30 minutes until cold. Perrier is best served well chilled to retain carbonation and crispness.

  2. 2

If you prefer a very cold drink, place 4 ice cubes into the serving glass. Note: adding ice will dilute the drink as it melts; skip ice to preserve full carbonation and flavor.

  3. 3

Open the chilled bottle of Perrier carefully. Pour gently into the prepared glass to preserve carbonation, tilting the glass and pouring down the side to reduce foaming. Fill to about 3/4–1 inch from the rim.

Garnish (optional)

  1. 4

    Lemon or Lime

If using citrus, run a lemon or lime wedge around the rim of the glass and then drop the wedge into the drink or squeeze lightly over the surface for a subtle citrus aroma and flavor.

  2. 5

    Mint

If using mint, clap the mint sprig between your palms once to release its aroma and place it on top of the drink as a fresh aromatic garnish.

Serving

  1. 6

Serve immediately while the Perrier is still lively and highly carbonated. Provide a straw or stirrer if desired and a small plate for discarded peels or used ice.

  2. 7

Estimate: one chilled bottle of Perrier yields one serving. Re-seal any remaining bottle contents and refrigerate; consume within a day for best carbonation.
