Method
Brewing the Tea
- 1
Boil the Water
In a kettle, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- 2
Add Tea
Once the water reaches a boil, remove it from heat and add 4 tablespoons of loose leaf black tea or 4 tea bags.
- 3
Steep the Tea
Allow the tea to steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength. The longer you steep, the stronger the tea will be.
- 4
Strain the Tea
If using loose leaf tea, strain the tea into a pitcher using a fine mesh sieve. If using tea bags, simply remove the bags.
Flavoring (Optional)
- 5
Add Flavorings
If desired, add lemon slices, mint leaves, or fresh ginger slices to the brewed tea for added flavor. Adjust the quantity of each flavoring to your personal taste.
- 6
Chill or Serve Warm
You can serve the tea warm immediately, or let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating it for iced tea. If serving iced, pour over ice.
