Method

Steak

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steak

Take the ribeye steak out of the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This helps in even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steak

Pat the steak dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Sear the Steak

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak to the pan and sear for 4-5 minutes on one side until browned.

  4. 4

    Add Garlic and Rosemary

Flip the steak and add minced garlic and rosemary to the pan. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or longer if desired.

  5. 5

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your liking, remove the steak from the pan and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Mashed Potatoes

  1. 6

    Boil the Potatoes

Peel and cut the russet potatoes into quarters. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add salt. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

  2. 7

    Mash the Potatoes

Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add butter, milk, salt, and black pepper. Mash until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.

Seasonal Vegetables

  1. 8

    Prepare the Vegetables

Wash and trim the asparagus (or chosen seasonal vegetable).

  2. 9

    Sauté the Vegetables

In a separate pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the vegetables and sauté for about 5-7 minutes until tender-crisp. Season with salt and black pepper.
