Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare the Toppings

Chop the lettuce, dice the tomato, slice the black olives, and jalapeños. Set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cheese

In a bowl, mix together the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Melt the Cheese

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Spread tortilla chips evenly on a baking sheet. Sprinkle the cheese mixture over the chips. Bake in the oven for about 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  2. 4

    Heat the Chili

While the chips and cheese are in the oven, heat the chili in a small saucepan over medium heat until warmed through, stirring occasionally.

Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Nachos

Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Top the melted cheese on the tortilla chips with the prepared lettuce, diced tomato, black olives, and jalapeños.

  2. 6

    Add Salsa and Sour Cream

Drizzle the salsa over the top of the nachos and add dollops of sour cream.

  3. 7

    Serve with Chili

Serve the nachos immediately alongside the heated chili.
