Beef Patty

Burger Assembly

Method

Beef Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined; do not overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a round patty, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help it cook evenly.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, you may add a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.

  3. 5

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cover the grill or skillet to melt the cheese.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Prepare the Buns

While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns in half and toast them lightly on the grill or in a toaster if desired.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese. Add slices of tomato and drizzle with ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.
