Cooking Pasta

Prepare the Pasta
In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tsp of salt to the boiling water.

Cook the Pasta
Add the fusilli pasta to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside.
Making the Sauce

Sauté Garlic
In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Once hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.

Add Cherry Tomatoes
Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for about 5-7 minutes until they soften and start to burst.

Season the Sauce
Stir in 1 cup of chopped fresh basil, 2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Combine and Serve

Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the drained fusilli pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss gently to combine and heat through for about 2 minutes.

Serve the pasta in bowls, garnishing each serving with 1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese and extra basil leaves to taste.
