Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Whisk the Eggs

In a bowl, crack the eggs and add the milk, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well combined and frothy.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Vegetables

Chop the vegetables of your choice (bell peppers, spinach, onion, mushrooms, and tomato) and set them aside.

  3. 3

    Grate the Cheese

If using block cheese, grate or crumble the cheese (cheddar, feta, swiss) and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

In a non-stick skillet, heat 1 tsp of oil or butter over medium heat until hot.

  2. 5

    Cook the Eggs

Pour the egg mixture into the skillet, swirling it to cover the surface evenly. Allow it to cook undisturbed for 2-3 minutes until the edges begin to set.

  3. 6

    Add Fillings

Once the edges are set, add your chosen vegetables and cheese evenly over one half of the omelette.

  4. 7

    Fold the Omelette

Using a spatula, gently fold the other half of the omelette over the fillings. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts and the omelette is cooked through.

  5. 8

    Serve

Slide the omelette onto a plate and serve warm. You can garnish with additional herbs or seasonings as desired.
