In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Mix in the vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
