Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Juicing the Lemons

Roll the lemons on a countertop with your palm to soften them. Cut each lemon in half and use a citrus juicer to extract the juice. You should have about 1 cup of lemon juice.

  2. 2

    Dissolving the Sugar

In a pitcher, combine the 1 cup of granulated sugar with 1 cup of warm water. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  3. 3

    Mixing the Lemonade

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher with the sugar water. Pour in the remaining 3 cups of cold water and stir well to combine.

Serving

  1. 4

    Adding Ice and Mint

If desired, add ice cubes to the pitcher or to individual glasses. Garnish with fresh mint leaves for added flavor.

  2. 5

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the lemonade and adjust sweetness by adding more sugar or more water, if necessary. Stir well before serving.

  3. 6

    Chill and Serve

Chill the lemonade in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving, or serve immediately over ice.
