Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures the cookies bake evenly.
- 2
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.
Mixing
- 3
Cream the Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- 4
Add Eggs and Vanilla
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract until everything is well combined.
- 5
Incorporate Dry Ingredients
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
- 6
Fold in Chocolate Chips
Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
- 7
Form Cookies
Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- 8
Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
- 9
Cool
Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
