For the Cinnamon Rolls

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a small saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm (not hot). Remove from heat and let cool slightly. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk mixture, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly. Add eggs, salt, and flour gradually, mixing until a soft dough forms.

  2. 2

    Knead the Dough

Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Filling

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon.

  4. 4

    Shape the Rolls

Once the dough has risen, roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick. Spread softened butter over the dough and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly on top. Roll up tightly from the long side and cut into 12 equal slices.

  5. 5

    Second Rise

Place the slices in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.

  6. 6

    Bake

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cinnamon rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Serve

Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
