Burger Patty

Toppings

Special Sauce

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until all ingredients are evenly incorporated, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and form each portion into a patty, about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent it from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burgers

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Heat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat until hot.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium doneness. If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Prepare the Special Sauce

  1. 5

    Mix the Sauce

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and pickle relish. Stir until well mixed.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns (Optional)

If desired, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

Spread a generous amount of the special sauce on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf, followed by a cooked patty (with melted cheese), a slice of tomato, and then the top half of the bun.
