Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

  2. 2

    Prepare Ramekins

Grease four 6-ounce ramekins with butter and dust with flour, ensuring an even coating to prevent sticking.

Making the Batter

  1. 3

    Melt Chocolate and Butter

In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the semisweet chocolate and unsalted butter. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until completely melted and smooth.

  2. 4

    Mix in Sugar

Stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.

  3. 5

    Incorporate Eggs

Add the large eggs and egg yolks to the mixture, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 6

    Add Flour and Salt

Gently fold in the all-purpose flour and a pinch of salt until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

Baking

  1. 7

    Fill Ramekins

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.

  2. 8

    Bake

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes or until the edges are firm but the center is still soft.

  3. 9

    Rest

Remove from the oven and let them sit for 1 minute. Carefully invert each ramekin onto a dessert plate.

Serving

  1. 10

    Garnish

Dust the top with powdered sugar and serve immediately with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
