Filet Mignon Ingredients

Method

Cooking Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Steaks

Remove the filet mignon steaks from the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Steaks

Generously season both sides of the steaks with salt and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat until it's shimmering but not smoking.

  4. 4

    Sear the Steaks

Add the steaks to the hot skillet and sear for about 4-5 minutes on one side until golden brown. Flip the steaks.

  5. 5

    Add Flavor

Add butter, garlic, and rosemary to the pan. As the butter melts, spoon it over the steaks to baste them.

  6. 6

    Cook to Desired Doneness

Continue cooking the steaks for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is reached.

  7. 7

    Rest and Serve

Remove the steaks from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve with your favorite sides.
