Preparation Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease an 8-inch round cake pan with olive oil. Line the bottom with parchment paper for easy removal.

  2. 2

    Melt the Chocolate

In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted chocolate and olive oil. Add the coconut sugar and whisk until well combined. Then, add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. 4

    Add Salt and Bake

Fold in half of the flaky sea salt into the batter. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is still slightly soft.

  5. 5

    Cool and Serve

Remove the torte from the oven and let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cool, sprinkle the top with the remaining flaky sea salt and serve with fresh berries.
