Prepare the Calamari
Rinse the calamari rings under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.

Make the Coating
In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.

Coat the Calamari
Dredge the calamari rings in the flour mixture, ensuring they are well coated. Shake off any excess flour.

Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

Fry the Calamari
Fry the calamari in small batches for about 2-3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Serve
Serve the fried calamari hot with cocktail sauce and lemon wedges on the side.
