Base Ingredients

Method

Prepare the Coffee

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee using your preferred method. Allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Add Liqueur (Optional)

If using coffee liqueur, stir it into the cooled coffee and set aside.

Make the Cream Mixture

  1. 3

    Whip the Cream

In a mixing bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.

  2. 4

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In another bowl, whisk the egg yolks and granulated sugar together until pale and creamy.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Gently fold the mascarpone cheese and vanilla extract into the egg yolk mixture until smooth.

  4. 6

    Incorporate Whipped Cream

Carefully fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined. Be gentle to retain the airiness.

Assemble the Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Dip Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the cooled coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

  2. 8

    Layer the Ingredients

In a rectangular dish, create a layer of soaked ladyfingers, followed by a layer of the cream mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with the cream mixture on top.

Chill and Serve

  1. 9

    Refrigerate

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.

  2. 10

    Add Toppings

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and sprinkle with dark chocolate shavings, if desired.

  3. 11

    Serve

Cut into squares and serve chilled. Enjoy your homemade tiramisu!
