Meatball Ingredients

Marinara Sauce Ingredients

Method

Meatball Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

  2. 2

    Form Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place the formed meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  3. 3

    Cook Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until they are browned and cooked through.

Marinara Sauce Preparation

  1. 4

    Sauté Onions and Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 6

    Add Fresh Basil

Once the sauce has thickened slightly, stir in the chopped fresh basil. Adjust seasonings to taste.

Combine and Serve

  1. 7

    Combine Meatballs with Sauce

Once the meatballs are cooked, gently add them to the marinara sauce. Let them simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes to absorb the flavors.

  2. 8

    Serve

Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with extra parsley or basil if desired, alongside pasta, bread, or on their own.
