Method

Chili Cheeseburger Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine ground sirloin, salt, and black pepper. Form the mixture into two equal 8-ounce patties.

  2. 2

    Grill the Patties

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Brush the grill with olive oil. Grill the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until desired doneness is reached.

  3. 3

    Warm the Chili

While the patties are grilling, heat the spicy beef chili or turkey chili in a saucepan over medium heat until warmed through.

  4. 4

    Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of grilling, place a mixture of shredded jack and cheddar cheese on top of each patty. Close the grill lid to melt the cheese.

  5. 5

    Toast the Buns

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Burgers

Place each cheesy patty on a toasted bun, spoon a generous amount of chili over the cheese, and add any optional toppings such as lettuce, tomato, or onion. Top with the other half of the bun.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve the Chili Cheeseburgers immediately with your favorite sides.
