Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Searing the Steak

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Season the beef chuck steak with salt and pepper, and sear on all sides until browned, about 8-10 minutes. Remove from pot and set aside.

  2. 2

    Sautéing Vegetables

In the same pot, add chopped onion, garlic, and bell peppers. Sauté until softened, approximately 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Combining Ingredients

Add the seared steak back into the pot along with kidney beans, diced tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. 4

    Slow Braising

Bring the chili to a simmer. Cover and reduce heat to low, allowing it to braise for 2-3 hours, or until the steak is tender and easily shredded.

  5. 5

    Finishing Touches

Once cooked, shred the steak in the pot and mix it into the chili. Serve hot, topped with cheddar cheese, a dollop of sour cream, chopped cilantro, and green onions. Accompany with grilled naan bread.
