Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Vegetables

Peel the kalo and cassava thoroughly. Cut both into small, even-sized cubes (about 1 inch). Rinse them under cold water and drain.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Fry the Kalo and Cassava

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the kalo cubes and sauté for about 5 minutes until they start to soften.

  2. 3

    Add Cassava

Add the cassava cubes to the skillet and cook for an additional 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until both kalo and cassava are golden brown and cooked through. If necessary, you can add a little more oil.

  3. 4

    Season the Vegetables

Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and garlic powder over the kalo and cassava. Stir well to ensure even coating and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

Serving

  1. 5

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and transfer to a serving dish. Garnish with chopped green onions and fresh cilantro if desired. Serve warm.
