Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Marinate the Chicken

In a large mixing bowl, combine the rye whiskey, soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and black pepper. Whisk until well blended. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for more flavor.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Remove chicken from the marinade (reserve marinade for later) and add to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).

  2. 3

    Prepare the Sauce

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the skillet and set aside. Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Let it cook for about 5-10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened slightly.

  3. 4

    Combine and Garnish

Return the chicken to the skillet and toss to coat it in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes. Serve the chicken topped with chopped green onions, toasted sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro.
