- 1
Prepare the Beef Patties
In a bowl, combine ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently and form into four equal patties.
- 2
Grill the Patties
Preheat a grill or stovetop grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- 3
Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty and cover the grill to melt the cheese.
- 4
Prepare the Buns
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill until golden brown.
- 5
For the Fries
- 6
Prepare the Potatoes
Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips or wedges, depending on your preference.
- 7
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- 8
Fry the Potatoes
Carefully add the potato strips to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 9
Drain and Season
Remove the fries from the oil and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt while still hot.
