Method

Meatballs

1

Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until fully combined.

2

Shape the Meatballs

Using your hands, shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3

Bake the Meatballs

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until browned and cooked through.

Marinara Sauce

4

Sauté the Onions and Garlic

In a large saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.

5

Add the Tomatoes and Seasonings

Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

6

Combine the Meatballs with Sauce

Once the meatballs are done baking, add them to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.

Spaghetti

7

Cook the Spaghetti

In a large pot, bring 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water, then add the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

8

Drain and Serve

Once the spaghetti is cooked, drain it in a colander. Serve it on plates topped with the marinara sauce and meatballs.
