Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Sticky Rice
Rinse the sticky rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak for 30 minutes, then steam or cook in a rice cooker according to package instructions until tender.
- 2
Prepare the Tuna
Pat the tuna steaks dry with a paper towel. Season lightly with salt.
- 3
Coat the Tuna
In a shallow dish, mix black and white sesame seeds. Press each side of the tuna steaks into the sesame seeds to coat evenly.
- 4
Sear the Tuna
Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tuna steaks and sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side, or until the outer layer is golden brown but the inside remains rare.
- 5
Serve
Remove the tuna from the skillet and let it rest for a minute. Slice the tuna into thin strips. Serve with cooked sticky rice, soy sauce, and a small amount of wasabi on the side.
