Preparation
1. Prepare the Calamari
Clean and slice the calamari into rings. Pat dry with paper towels.
2. Set up the Breading Station
In one bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, and paprika. In a second bowl, beat the eggs. In a third bowl, place breadcrumbs.
3. Bread the Calamari
Dredge each calamari ring in the flour mixture, dip in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs. Set aside on a plate.
4. Heat the Oil
In a deep fryer or large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
5. Fry the Calamari
Fry the breaded calamari in batches for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
6. Make the Sriracha Aioli
In a small bowl, mix together sriracha, mayonnaise, and lime juice until well combined.
7. Serve
Serve the fried calamari hot with the sriracha aioli on the side.
