Steak Fingers

Crispy Crinkle Fries

Texas Toast

Method

Steak Fingers

  1. 1

    Prepare the steak

Cut the cube steak into strips about 1 inch wide and 3 inches long.

  2. 2

    Set up the breading station

In three separate bowls, place the flour seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in one; beat the eggs with the milk in another; and put the breadcrumbs in the third.

  3. 3

    Bread the steak fingers

Coat each steak strip in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.

  4. 4

    Fry the steak fingers

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium heat. Once hot, fry the steak fingers in batches for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Crispy Crinkle Fries

  1. 5

    Cook the fries

Follow the package instructions and bake or fry the frozen crinkle-cut fries until golden and crispy, usually around 20-30 minutes.

  2. 6

    Season the fries

Sprinkle with salt immediately after cooking and toss to coat.

Texas Toast

  1. 7

    Prepare the Texas toast

Spread butter on one side of each slice of Texas toast.

  2. 8

    Toast the bread

In a skillet over medium heat, place the buttered side down and toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

Country Gravy

  1. 9

    Cook the sausage

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled.

  2. 10

    Make the roux

Sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine, cooking for about 1 minute.

  3. 11

    Add milk

Gradually whisk in the milk, continuing to cook and stir until the gravy thickens, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
