Prepare the Brown Sugar Simple Syrup
In a small saucepan, combine equal parts brown sugar and water (1:1 ratio). Heat gently until the sugar is fully dissolved. Allow to cool before use.

Prepare the Cherry Smoke
In a smoking gun, place cherry wood chips and ignite. Capture the smoke in a glass or cocktail shaker for a few minutes.
Mixing the Cocktail

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, add 2 oz of Buffalo Trace bourbon, 2 dashes of bitters (Angostura or Orange), and 0.5 oz of brown sugar simple syrup.

Stir and Chill
Fill the mixing glass with ice and stir gently for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a rocks glass over a big ice rock.

Add the Smoke
Using the glass or cocktail shaker that captured the cherry smoke, cover the cocktail with the smoke for a few seconds before serving.

Garnish with an orange twist or cherry if desired.
