Alfredo Sauce
Garnish and Bread
Method
Prepare the Pasta and Chicken
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Blacken the Chicken
While the pasta cooks, season the chicken breasts liberally with blackening seasoning on both sides. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side until cooked through and blackened. Remove from heat and let rest before slicing.
Make the Alfredo Sauce
- 3
Prepare the Butter and Cream
In the same skillet used for chicken, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- 4
Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream, and stir to combine. Bring to a gentle simmer and reduce the heat. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
Combine and Serve
- 5
Mix Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.
- 6
Slice Chicken and Garnish
Slice the blackened chicken and serve it on top of the pasta. Garnish with chopped chives.
- 7
Prepare Texas Toast
Toast the Texas toast slices according to package instructions until golden brown, and serve on the side.
