Prepare the Pork
Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place it in a slow cooker.

Cook the Pork
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the pork is tender and easily shreds with a fork.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with BBQ sauce. Let it simmer on low for an additional 30 minutes.

Slice the red onion thinly. Lightly toast the sandwich rolls if desired.
