1. Prepare the Steak

Take the NY Strip steaks out of the refrigerator and let them come to room temperature for about 30 minutes.

2. Season the Steak

Pat the steaks dry with paper towels. Rub both sides with olive oil, then season generously with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Sprinkle fresh rosemary on both sides.

3. Preheat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat until it is hot.

4. Cook the Steak

Place the steaks in the hot skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the steaks and add butter to the pan. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, adjusting the time for your preferred doneness.

5. Rest the Steak
