Directions
- 1
Prepare the Sauce
In a blender or food processor, combine the San Marzano tomatoes and salt. Pulse until you achieve a smooth sauce consistency. Set aside.
- 2
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to the highest setting (typically around 250°C or 482°F) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
- 3
Prepare the Pizza Dough
On a floured surface, stretch the pizza dough into a circle about 10-12 inches in diameter. Make sure it's evenly thin, but with a slightly thicker edge for the crust.
- 4
Assemble the Pizza
Spread a thin layer of the prepared tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and distribute them evenly over the sauce.
- 5
Add Basil and Drizzle Oil
Tear the fresh basil leaves and scatter them over the pizza. Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil on top for added flavor.
- 6
Bake the Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza to the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for about 8-10 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 7
Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a minute. Slice and serve hot, garnished with additional fresh basil if desired.
