Sautéed Green Beans with Almonds

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Green Beans

Wash the fresh green beans under cold water and trim the ends.

  2. 2

    Blanch the Green Beans

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.

  3. 3

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.

  4. 4

    Add the Green Beans

Drain the green beans from the ice water and add them to the skillet. Sauté for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. 5

    Add Almonds and Seasoning

Add the sliced almonds, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to the skillet. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the almonds are toasted and the green beans are heated through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve warm as a side dish.
