Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Farro

In a medium pot, bring 3 cups of water or vegetable broth to a boil. Add the farro and a teaspoon of salt. Reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Simmer for about 25-30 minutes or until the farro is tender and chewy. Drain any excess liquid if necessary.

  2. 2

    Sauté the Shallots

While the farro is cooking, finely chop the shallots. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped shallots and sauté until they are soft and translucent, about 5-7 minutes.

  3. 3

    Combine and Finish

Once the farro is cooked, add it to the skillet with the sautéed shallots. Stir well to combine, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Stir in the chopped fresh parsley, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

  4. 4

    Serve

Remove from heat and serve warm. Enjoy your buttered farro with shallots and parsley!
