Method

Cobbler Base Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, melt the butter and then add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  4. 4

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.

  5. 5

    Prepare Baking Dish

Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the cobbler base mixture evenly into the dish.

Blueberry Compote Preparation

  1. 6

    Cook Blueberries

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and water. Stir well.

  2. 7

    Simmer

Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes until the blueberries burst and the sauce thickens.

  3. 8

    Cool Compote

Remove from heat and let the blueberry compote cool slightly while the cobbler bakes.

Baking

  1. 9

    Bake the Cobbler

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  2. 10

    Serve

Once baked, remove the cobbler from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes. Serve warm with blueberry compote drizzled on top.
