Method

Preparation of Tea

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

  2. 2

    Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from the heat and add the 4 black tea bags. Allow the tea to steep for about 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

  3. 3

    Remove Tea Bags

Carefully remove the tea bags from the saucepan, ensuring not to squeeze them to avoid bitterness.

Sweetening the Tea

  1. 4

    Add Sugar

While the tea is still warm, add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the pot. Stir well until the sugar is fully dissolved.

  2. 5

    Cool the Tea

Allow the sweetened tea to cool to room temperature, then transfer it to a pitcher.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 6

    Refrigerate

Cover the pitcher and refrigerate the tea for at least 2 hours, or until well chilled.

  2. 7

    Serve with Garnishes

Serve the chilled sweet tea over ice, garnished with lemon slices and fresh mint leaves.
