Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fruits

Wash all the fruits thoroughly. Slice the oranges, lemons, and limes into thin rounds. Hull and slice the strawberries. Pit and slice the peaches. If using fresh pineapple, cut it into chunks.

  2. 2

    Combine the Fruits

In a large pitcher, combine the sliced oranges, lemons, limes, strawberries, peaches, and pineapple chunks. Stir gently to mix the fruits.

Mixing

  1. 3

    Add the Liquids

Pour the red wine, brandy, and orange juice into the pitcher with the fruit. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  2. 4

    Sweeten the Sangria

Add the sugar and honey to the mixture, stirring until fully dissolved.

  3. 5

    Infuse the Flavors

Add the cinnamon sticks and star anise to the pitcher. Allow the sangria to sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to let the flavors meld together.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Sangria

Just before serving, add the sparkling water to the pitcher and stir gently. Pour the sangria into glasses over ice, if desired, and garnish with additional fruit slices.

  2. 7

    Enjoy!

Serve chilled and enjoy your refreshing Sassy Sangria!
