Method
Preparation
- 1
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it reaches the right temperature for baking the cake.
- 2
Mixing the Batter
- 3
Melt Butter and Combine Wet Ingredients
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, add the eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until well combined.
- 4
Combine Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.
- 5
Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures
Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture into the wet ingredients, stirring gently with a spatula until just combined. Do not overmix.
Baking
- 6
Fill Ramekins
Evenly distribute the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling each about 3/4 full.
- 7
Bake the Cakes
Place the ramekins in the preheated oven and bake for 12-14 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is soft and jiggly.
- 8
Cool Slightly
Remove the ramekins from the oven and let them cool for 1-2 minutes. This will help the cakes settle slightly.
