Method
Preparation
- 1
Hard-Boil the Eggs
Place the large eggs in a pot, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Once boiling, cover the pot and remove from heat. Let sit for 10-12 minutes, then transfer to an ice bath to cool. Once cooled, peel the eggs and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Sausage Mixture
In a mixing bowl, remove the casing from the banger sausages and crumble the sausage meat. Add salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to the sausage meat, mixing until well combined.
Assembly and Baking
- 3
Wrap the Eggs
Take a portion of the sausage mixture and flatten it in your hand. Place a hard-boiled egg in the center and wrap the sausage mixture around the egg, ensuring it is fully covered. Repeat for all eggs.
- 4
Coat with Bread Crumbs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll each sausage-wrapped egg in the bread crumbs until fully coated. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- 5
Add Cheddar Cheese
Grate the cheddar cheese and sprinkle it generously over the top of each Scotch egg before placing them in the oven.
- 6
Bake the Scotch Eggs
Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the sausage is cooked through and the bread crumbs are golden brown.
