Pancake Batter

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar until well combined.

Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.

Combine Mixtures
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips. Do not overmix; it's okay if the batter is slightly lumpy.
Cooking Pancake

Preheat the Pan
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or cooking spray.

Cook Pancake
Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.

Keep Warm
Transfer cooked pancakes to a plate and cover with foil to keep warm while you cook the remaining pancakes.

In a small bowl, combine softened butter, powdered sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
